Disclaimer

Last updated: May 2026

This disclaimer applies to all content, tools, features, and services provided by Luxydog Ltd ("Luxydog", "we", "us") through our Platform at luxydog.app. Please read this disclaimer carefully before using any part of our Platform.

1. Not Veterinary Advice

The information, guidance, and assessments provided by Luxydog, including through our AI Symptom Checker, Image Health Scanner, Behaviour Translator, Training Coach, Feeding & Nutrition Planner, Emergency First Aid Guide, and all other tools and features are provided for general informational and educational purposes only.

Nothing on our Platform constitutes professional veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Our AI tools analyse the information you provide and generate responses based on general veterinary knowledge, they do not physically examine your dog, they cannot access your dog's full medical history, and they cannot perform the diagnostic tests that a qualified veterinarian would conduct in a clinical setting.

Always consult a qualified, RCVS-registered veterinarian before making medical decisions for your dog. If you are concerned about your dog's health, book a consultation with a vet, either through our Find a Vet feature or with your registered veterinary practice.

2. AI Tool Limitations

Our AI tools are powered by large language models and computer vision AI, including technology from OpenAI. While these tools are powerful and draw on extensive veterinary knowledge, they have important limitations that users must understand:

2.1 AI Symptom Checker

The Symptom Checker provides urgency guidance based on the symptoms you describe. It cannot account for subtle clinical signs that a vet would observe during a physical examination, pupil response, skin turgor, mucous membrane colour, lymph node size, heart and lung sounds, abdominal palpation, and many others. Two dogs can present with identical symptoms and have entirely different underlying conditions. The Symptom Checker is a starting point, not an endpoint.

2.2 Image Health Scanner

The Image Scanner provides observations based on the visual information in the photograph you upload. Its accuracy depends entirely on the quality, lighting, angle, and clarity of the image. Many serious health conditions are not visually apparent at all, internal disease, early-stage cancer, organ dysfunction, and infections often show no visible external signs. A normal result from the Image Scanner does not mean your dog is healthy.

2.3 Behaviour Translator

The Behaviour Translator provides explanations based on common interpretations of dog behaviour. However, dog behaviour is complex and context-dependent. The same behaviour (growling, for example) can mean very different things in different contexts and in different breeds. For serious behaviour problems, particularly any form of aggression towards people or other animals, you must consult a qualified, accredited dog behaviourist in person. Do not rely solely on AI guidance for aggression-related behaviour issues.

2.4 Training Coach

Training advice is general in nature and based on positive reinforcement principles. Individual dogs respond differently to training approaches. Breeds, age, history, previous training, and individual temperament all affect how a dog responds to training. The AI cannot observe your dog's body language, timing, or the environment in which you are training, all of which are critical factors in effective dog training.

2.5 Feeding & Nutrition Planner

The Feeding Planner provides general nutritional guidance based on standard formulas. Caloric needs can vary significantly between individual dogs of the same breed, age, and weight. Dogs with medical conditions particularly diabetes, kidney disease, liver disease, obesity, pancreatitis, food allergies, or cancer require dietary management by a veterinary professional or veterinary nutritionist. Do not use the Feeding Planner as the primary guide for dogs with medical conditions without consulting your vet.

2.6 Emergency First Aid Guide

Our Emergency First Aid Guide provides general first aid information to help stabilise your dog in a crisis situation. First aid buys time it is not treatment. Every emergency in the guide requires professional veterinary intervention as soon as possible. Do not delay seeking emergency veterinary care because you are reading this guide. Call your vet, call an emergency animal hospital, or use our Find a Vet feature while simultaneously following the first aid guidance.

3. No Liability for AI Outputs

Luxydog and its AI providers cannot guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or appropriateness of any AI-generated response for your specific dog's situation. We are not liable for any harm, injury, deterioration in health, or financial loss resulting from actions taken based on AI tool outputs. All AI outputs should be treated as general information, not as specific medical advice for your dog.

4. Blog and Editorial Content

Articles, guides, and other editorial content published on the Luxydog blog are written for informational purposes. We strive for accuracy and work to ensure our content reflects current veterinary knowledge and UK veterinary standards. However, veterinary medicine evolves rapidly and individual articles may not reflect the most current research or clinical guidelines at the time you read them. Always verify important health information with your vet.

Content on the Luxydog blog is not written by registered veterinarians unless explicitly stated. Where we reference specific medical claims, we aim to cite credible sources, but blog content should not be treated as clinical guidance.

5. Insurance Information

Our Insurance Comparison tool provides general information about dog insurance providers based on publicly available data. Insurance products, pricing, terms, and coverage details change frequently. The information displayed on our Platform may not reflect the most current policy terms or pricing. Always read the full policy documents and get a personalised quote before purchasing any insurance product. Luxydog is not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and does not provide regulated financial or insurance advice.

6. Marketplace Products

Products sold on the Luxydog Marketplace by third-party sellers are the responsibility of those sellers. Luxydog does not verify the suitability, safety, or efficacy of third-party products for individual dogs. Before introducing a new food, supplement, or product to your dog, consult your veterinarian, particularly if your dog has existing health conditions or is on medication.

7. Community Content

The Luxydog Community forum contains user-generated content posted by members of the public who are not veterinary professionals. Content shared in the community reflects the personal opinions and experiences of individual users and should not be treated as professional advice. Luxydog does not verify the accuracy of community posts and accepts no responsibility for the content posted by users. Always seek professional veterinary advice rather than relying on community recommendations for health-related decisions.

8. Emergency Situations

Luxydog is not an emergency service. If your dog is in immediate danger, is unconscious, is not breathing, is bleeding severely, is having a seizure, has collapsed, or is showing any other sign of a life-threatening emergency, contact an emergency veterinary hospital immediately. Do not use our Platform as a primary resource in a life-threatening emergency.
